Horse racing tips and best bets for Cheltenham, Newmarket, Beverley and Kempton
COOLE CODY (2:05) can bag another valuable prize at Cheltenham in the Ceres Silver Trophy Chase. Evan Williams’ star looked better than ever when routing Imperial Alcazar in the Festival Plate here just a few weeks ago.
The admirable veteran still lurks on an attractive mark so he can strike again for his thriving handler.
ROMEO BROWN (1:30) makes plenty of appeal in the trappy Kingston Handicap Hurdle. Sue Smith’s charge recorded a career best when routing the talented Son Of The Somme at Kelso. The gelding goes well here so he can defy a well-earned 8lb hike under the skilled Thomas Willmott.
The Safran Hurdle is just as competitive but I’m backing Kieren Burke’s LAST ROYAL (4:25). The gelding can make a winning handicap bow after hammering Makin'yourmindup at Wincanton.
ROCK LEGEND (5:00) can call the tune for Dan Skelton in a tricky conditionals’ handicap hurdle. The five-year-old opened his account over timber by hacking up from Royle Steel at Newcastle. The gelding clearly has a bright future so he can take full advantage of a reasonable opening mark.
At Newmarket, POCKET THE PROFIT (1:50) can earn us a few quid by taking the bet365 Handicap. A progressive juvenile, the sprinter returned with an impressive defeat of Panama City at Pontefract. The gelding is open to plenty of progress so he can shrug off a 3lbs rise in the hands of Ryan Moore.
SECRET STATE (2:25) can claim the Wood Ditton Stakes for Godolphin handler Charlie Appleby. The Dubawi colt makes plenty of appeal on paper for a trainer who excels with his newcomers.
In-form Appleby can also take the Craven Stakes with budding superstar NATIVE TRAIL (3:35). The colt stretched his unbeaten record to four by slamming Dubawi Legend in the Dewhurst
