Horror as man rushed to hospital with ‘life threatening injuries’ after motorbike crash

A man has been rushed to hospital with ‘potentially life threatening injuries’ after a horror crash in Fallowfield.

Emergency services raced out to the smash at the junction of Wilbraham road and Lloyd Street South at around 2.45pm this afternoon (July 23). The collision involved a motorbike and a vehicle, police said.

Further details about the crash have not yet been confirmed and enquiries are ongoing.

Shocked residents watched on in horror as a man was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken away in an ambulance.

Joyce Bromley, 95, who has lived near the scene for over 40 years, said: “It was just after half two. I looked out and saw all the police cars everywhere.

“They eventually put him on a stretcher and put him in an ambulance. I was shocked. I’ve lived here over 40 years and we’ve had lots of crashes including a fatal one, but this is one of the most serious.

“The road was closed for hours. They only just opened it just before 7:30pm.”

Another local resident said: “I didn’t see it happen but I was coming back from the shop and I saw the car with what looked like a bike frame underneath it. You could tell straight away it was serious. They had cordoned it all off.

“They wouldn’t let me under the barrier to get back to my house so a neighbour put me in her car and drove all the way round so I could get in the back way.

“It’s such a dangerous road
