Horizon Forbidden West: Player discovers amazing vantage point

A player has discovered perhaps the best place to view the entire Horizon Forbidden West map, showing the sheer scale of Guerrilla Games’ world.

The sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn has been a critical and commercial success and players are continuing to explore the world, finding secrets and easter eggs hidden all over the place.

And a user on Reddit, by the name of OnlyLaiden, has found what might well be the perfect vantage point to see the entire map.

They have shared a clip on the game’s sub-reddit showing just how incredibly detailed the world is.

Aloy is seen at the top of a mountain in the clip, and she continually zooms in with her long-range bow.

From there, she is able to spot four Tallnecks from miles away. There are six Tallnecks in total in the game and it is quite incredible that the giants can be seen from so far away.

It also gives a clear idea of how Horizon Forbidden West’s world was created, with there being vast distances in between the Tallnecks.

The giants, per the game’s lore, are 61ft tall, so it’s little surprise that they can be seen like this, although the draw distance on the game showcases just how truly next-gen Forbidden West is.

From the top of the mountain, Aloy can also see the vast differences that the separate regions have; the green, lush soil of Plainsong can be seen, as can the desert of Scalding Spear.

Horizon Forbidden West has a huge open-world and there are sure to be more clips like this in the coming weeks and months.
