"Honestly" - Jadon Sancho Manchester United recall prospects as Chelsea impressed with loan star
Jadon Sancho, on loan at Premier League rivals Chelsea, has been providing goals and assists for his new team - leading to some wondering if the out-of-favour winger should get his chance to come back and try to impress new manager Ruben Amorim at Manchester United.
Manchester Evening News readers have had their say in our comments section and the general consensus is that the club shouldn't even entertain the thought.
Sancho, 24, has repaid Chelsea with two goals and seven assists in ten matches so far. His two goals arrived in as many games last week, including contributing to an impressive comeback win against a fragile-looking Spurs in a London derby on Sunday.
A recall for one of Chelsea's new favourites is unlikely, given that the London club have an obligation to buy Sancho. He also seems happy to stay where he is, telling Premier League Productions: "I know I have a lot of people to prove wrong, and I’m just working hard every day in training. When I get my opportunity, I try to show what I can do.
"Today, I am happy that I scored and helped secure three points for the team. Again, I’m just taking it game by game and hopefully I can continue this form. I have to say thank you to the whole Chelsea team and the staff for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to play."
Reader Garth123 won't hear any talk of a recall: “He is a Chelsea player. End of conversation.”
Commenter Noronny says: “He'd be a fool to return, even if he could. Shockingly, there were only a handful of supporters who took his side versus Ten Hag. TH treated him like dirt as he favoured the useless Rashford and Antony for most matches that year. He's now working with a manager who wants him and he's thriving. Good for him.”
