Homes without water and stretch of main road shut after main bursts

Some homes are without water and a stretch of a main road in Prestwich is closed this morning due to a burst main.

The burst water main is on the A576 Middleton Road, according to United Utilities. Some homes in the surrounding area may have no water or low water pressure.

According to Transport for Greater Manchester, the road is fully closed near the junction with Victoria Avenue. Two lanes are also shut on the road towards the M60.

"We will provide you with an update once we know more."
