Homes Under the Hammer's Martin Roberts breaks down in tears as he announces heartbreaking loss in video

Homes Under the Hammer host Martin Roberts broke down in tears as he announced the death of his father. The TV star took to Twitter early Thursday morning (March 9) to share the sad news in a heart-wrenching video.

Appearing in the video, the 59-year-old looked tired and visibly distraught, as he admitted he wasn't sure if he should be posting the video as it was such a personal matter. "But I guess people deal with things in different ways," he said.

Martin then went on to say: "This is a very private thing but I kind of just need to surround myself with as many people who care right now...so I consider you my friends." He struggled to contain his cries as he continued: "My dad died yesterday, he was 90 and he had a great life and erm...he died peacefully, he died at home and he wasn't in pain so that's great.

"So any words you've got would be appreciated." He then took a few deep breaths before adding: "Thank you for being there anyway." The post was quickly flooded with support from Martin's followers.
