Ukraine calls on international sports organizations to suspend the membership of Russian sports federations.

"Ukraine notes the need to extend sanctions against Russia, including the suspension of membership in international sports federations. Ukrainian sports federations have appealed to the international federations of volleyball, table tennis, equestrian sports, taekwondo, judo, figure skating and cycling to suspend the membership of Russian federations in international sports organizations," the Ministry of Youth and Sports said.

It is noted that Ukrainian sports officials emphasize that these Russian federations have deployed their representative offices in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, which is a gross violation of territorial integrity.

In addition, the Cycling Federation of Ukraine has filed a complaint against the actions of the Russian Cycling Federation, which violates the regulations of the UCI (Union Cycliste Internationale), in particular, holds competitions in the temporarily occupied territories of Crimea.

"The Ukrainian sports community notes that the International Olympic Committee has suspended the membership of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) due to the creation of ROC representative offices in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, in particular in Zaporizhia, Kherson, Luhansk and Donetsk regions, which are under the jurisdiction of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine," the message says.
