Holly Willoughby tests positive for Covid-19 and will miss Dancing On Ice semi-final

TV presenter Holly Willoughby has tested positive for Covid-19 and will miss the big semi-final of ITV's Dancing On Ice show on Sunday night (March 13).

The star was due to host the hit celebrity skating show alongside co-host Philip Schofield.

But ITV bosses issued a statement on Sunday morning to say that Holly would now not be on presenting duties after the positive coronavirus test.

The statement from ITV said: "Unfortunately, Holly Willoughby is unable to host tonight's show after testing positive for Covid-19. We look forward to Holly returning for the Dancing on Ice Live Final."

It has not been confirmed if anyone will step in to replace Holly, 40, at this late stage, with the statement simply adding that Philip Schofield, 59, will be presenting the semi-final.

Last month Philip had to miss an episode of the show after testing positive for Covid-19, and he was replaced by popular ITV presenter Stephen Mulhern for the week.

Oldham-raised Philip reassured fans at the time that he was coping well with the virus, mostly suffering from a "dry sore throat".

Meanwhile fans loved Stephen hosting the show with Holly - as it made many fans nostalgic for their childhood days when they would host children's TV shows together.

Holly's most recent post on her social media pages shows her "high glamour" Saturday trying to clean the house - only for her dog to eat her Dyson hoover.

The final of the ITV skating competition was due to take place on Sunday, March 20, following this weekend's semi-final.

There will be a double elimination tonight as they whittle down the couples for the grand final.
