However, those wanting to try this trick have been warned to keep a close eye on the details as some booking sites provide non-refundable bookings which could result in you accidentally losing more cash.

Meanwhile, hotel booking sites may also have a cancellation fee policy in place. While this may mitigate the amount of savings made, customers are still urged to see if the rebook would still be cheaper even with the cancellation fee factored in.
