Hogwarts Legacy gets first major patch with bug fixes and performance issues resolved
Hogwarts Legacy has received its first major patch that resolves a range of bugs and performance issues. The update comes just days after the video game – set within the world of Harry Potter – went on general sale on Friday.
Gamers on Xbox Series X and PC can benefit from the update now, while those on PlayStation 5 will have to wait until later this week as the patch has been delayed due to “unforeseen issues.” Warner Bros. Games – who published Hogwarts Legacy under its Portkey Games label alongside developer Avalanche Software – announced the patch via a tweet.
It read: “Xbox Series X and PC players, expect a patch today that resolves a number of bugs and performance issues! PS5 players, due to some unforeseen issues, we’re targeting later this week to get your patch to you. Thanks for your patience!”

Warner Bros. has released the full patch notes on its website. It includes a fix for several instances of the game crashing, issues with the game’s autosave feature, and audio issues.
Perhaps the most notable fix is for a bug affecting the game’s Collector’s Edition trophy. An issue has prevented players on PS5 from earning the trophy after collecting Hogwarts Legacy’s hundreds of collectibles, in turn preventing completionists from achieving the game’s platinum trophy, earned by completing everything the game has to offer.
