Hockey icon Marie-Philip Poulin to undergo knee surgery in July
Hockey icon Marie-Philip Poulin will undergo knee surgery in July, Montreal Victoire general manager Danièle Sauvageau announced on Thursday.
The last three months of the season, including the PWHL playoffs, were anything but easy for the Victoire's captain.
Her troubles began at the Milano-Cortina Olympics in February, when she suffered a right knee injury. Then she aggravated that injury in a March 15 game against the Boston Fleet, which Poulin confirmed to reporters on May 28.
Despite her injuries, Poulin led the Victoire to the Walter Cup title and was named playoff MVP.
"There are definitely going to be some decisions to make in the coming weeks," said Poulin, who was the last player to address reporters during the Victoire's end-of-season availability Wednesday at the Verdun Auditorium in Montreal.
