Hlanti confident Du Preez will find form: 'Its a matter of time'

Kaizer Chiefs striker Ashley Du Preez is under increasing pressure following his strike partner Caleb Bimenyimana's good form.

Chiefs defender Sifiso Hlanti believes it's only a matter of time before Du Preez finds his goal-scoring touch.

Chiefs host Chippa United at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday.

Despite all the pre-match talk about penalty hat-trick hero Caleb Bimenyimana, Kaizer Chiefs still have some worries upfront.

After scoring one goal in seven matches, the pressure is mounting on Bimenyimana's strike partner Ashley Du Preez.

That single goal sees Du Preez well behind Bimenyimana (6) in the goal-scoring stakes.

Despite the struggles facing Du Preez, his teammate Sifiso Hlanti has confidence in him and says he has shown great desire to try and put things right. Hlanti believes it's a matter of time until the 25-year-old gets back to his best.

"I will be honest with you, he's (Du Preez) shown positive signs," Hlanti told reporters.

"He fights from the beginning until the last, so we can't point to him and say he's not doing what he's capable of. It's just a matter of time.

Hlanti believes that not all the blame should fall on Du Preez's shoulders but the team as a whole, as they are responsible for creating chances and supporting him.

"It's up to us; we are the key. We are the ones who need to give him support and courage at all times. We know that in this game of football, such things happen.

Kick-off at 17:30 on Saturday
