Hillsborough sold out for crucial Portsmouth match as Sheffield Wednesday seek to seal play-off spot

Sheffield Wednesday have sold out the entire home allocation for Saturday's match against Portsmouth. The Owls have a tricky fixture against Portsmouth to negotiate in the final day of the League One season, but they will be guaranteed a play-off spot if they win. A draw could be enough, depending on the results of Sunderland, Plymouth Argyle and Wycombe Wanderers.

The club made further tickets available by opening the West Stand Lower on Wednesday but all tickets have now been sold. This is the first time Darren Moore 's side will have played in front of a sell-out crowd this season and they will be expecting an electric atmosphere as they look to close out the regular season with a win.

Should they do so, they will head into the play-offs as one of the most inform teams. Despite their recent loss against Wycombe, they have won six of their last ten in League One, climbing to fourth place and giving them a points total of 82. If they can qualify for and win the play-offs, they will have sealed promotion back to the Championship at the first attempt.

As mentioned, Wycombe can still knock Wednesday out of the play-offs. However, they would have to defeat Burton Albion, whilst Sunderland beat Morecambe and Plymouth be victorious over third placed MK Dons in order for that to happen.
