High School Basketball Team Snubbed By Blown Call Shows Incredible Sportsmanship

The New Jersey high school basketball team that fell victim to one of the biggest blown calls you will see anywhere showed some top-notch sportsmanship at the state championship game, which just so happened to be won by the team that benefited from the awful call.

Manasquan High School was on the receiving end of the awful call which saw its game-winning buzzer-beater overturned despite video evidence clearly showing it should have counted.

This cost Manasquan an appearance in the State Championship finals and instead handed it to local powerhouse Camden.

The Manasquan school district is even taking legal action against the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA).

This is all to illustrate that there is every reason for anyone associated with the Manasquan program to be hot under the collar. However, at the state championships, the Manasquan fellas were in the house, and you've got to tip your cap for this display of sportsmanship.

According to Fox News Digital, Manasquan had tried to get the championship game postponed, but that didn't pan out. The game took place at Rutgers on Saturday and with Camden winning the Group 2 title, it's second in three years.

Cameras caught the Manasquan fellas giving Camden a standing ovation after the game.

That seems like a small thing, but think back to your worst high school sports loss. I don't know what it is, but I guarantee it pales in comparison to what Manasquan dealt with.

And yet they showed up and displayed some serious respect.

That action said a lot. I still mutter things under my breath if someone mentions one of the schools that beat my team during my high school hockey days. The wound is still fresh for these guys; not even a week old.
