Hibs brutally troll Alfredo Morelos as they respond to striker's Champions League banishment

Hibs have posted a timely tweet featuring Alfredo Morelos, mere minutes after his bombshell axing from the Rangers squad.

The Easter Road club have uploaded a picture of the Colombian forward facing up against defender Ryan Porteous during Saturday's 2-2 Premiership draw. Morelos came off the bench and was sent off inside 13 minutes for a flailing arm to the face of left-back Marijan Cabraja. Boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst has now removed him from his squad that will take on PSV on Wednesday in a crucial Champions League play-off second leg.

The tie currently stands at 2-2 and Morelos was expected to play a part, holding the title of Rangers' record European goalscorer and making a name for himself in continental action wearing light blue. Concerns regarding both his fitness and his attitude. have been put in the spotlight by van Bronckhorst and he won't be used over in the Netherlands.

Porteous and Morelos have had long running battles since the Rangers striker's arrival in Scottish football in 2017 and Hibs have made a nod to this after their rivals' eighth red card in SPFL waters.

There is one year left on the 26-year-old's deal at Ibrox and talks have been put on hold in light of this.

Wednesday'a match in the Netherlands could see the Govan club progress to the group stage of UEFA’s premier competition for the first time in 12 years.
