HGV driver found dead in bedroom after tragedy

A man found dead at his home succumbed to carbon monoxide poisoning, an inquest hearing was told.

Stephen Hughes, 44, died following an incident at a property on May Walk in Partington, Trafford, on Sunday, July 23, this year. Emergency services including police officers and firefighters were called out, but sadly Mr Hughes was pronounced dead at the scene.

An inquest into the divorced HGV driver's death was opened and adjourned at Stockport Coroners' Court today - Thursday, October 26.

"We've carried out a thorough check of the gas mains and service pipes in the area and we can confirm they are sound and did not cause or contribute to this incident. We now leave the scene in the hands of the lead agencies, as they continue their work to
