Heavy traffic on M4 near Swansea after motorway shut due to lorry fire
A section of the M4 near Swansea was closed on Monday afternoon after a lorry caught fire.
The westbound section of the motorway between junction 47 at Penllergaer and junction 48 at Hendy was shut from shortly after 2.30pm until around 3.30pm.
Emergency services were called to the scene and there was heavy congestion and queuing traffic in the area as motorists were diverted via the junction 47 slip-road.
Fire crews from Swansea Central, Gorseinon, Morriston, Llanelli and Tumble attended the fire, the lorry was removed from the motorway.
South Wales Police confirmed that nobody was injured in the incident.
