Heavy rain sees Durban's Super Giants and MI Cape Town clash abandoned
Rain has the final say as Durban's Super Giants and MI Cape Town encounter at Kingsmead was abandoned on Tuesday.
After deciding to field first in overcast conditions, Durban looked to make early inroads and were rewarded when Junior Dala bowled in-form Ryan Rickelton for a nine-ball 18.
Captain Keshav Maharaj then struck as Reeza Hendricks (8) swept to only find a fielder in the deep. Durban were in high spirits soon after when Noor Ahmad picked up Colin Ingram for one.
MI Cape Town were 69-3 before heavy rain halted play and eventually saw the game abandoned with points shared.
Opener Rassie van der Dussen remained undefeated on 35, alongside promoted captain Rashid Khan (5*).
Scores in brief:
MI Cape Town 69-3 in 11 (Van der Dussen 35*, Rickelton 18, Ahmad 1/7, Dala 1/15)
