Heatless overnight curls hack - and it doesn’t involve socks or a dressing gown belt

Beauty addicts have been forced to be creative over the past two years with ways of creating salon-worthy curls at home during the lockdowns when hairdressers were closed. With more time spent indoors meaning more time for grooming, people came up with impressive DIY methods that would do little damage to your hair, without the need for heat styling.

One of the viral methods involved parting your hair and wrapping the sections around a pair of socks. Another method involved using a dressing gown belt - and worked wonders.

With some of us permanently embracing change made during the pandemic, such as not wanting to use curling tongs as often to protect the hair, people online have been on the lookout for hassle-free ways to get frizz-free curls. One woman has recently gone viral on TikTok with her hack for achieving a voluminous look - with fans who tried it saying it was 'the best their hair ever looked'.

Nicole Adalina, a fashion design student in New York City, puts her hair in a special bun most evenings to achieve bouncy locks and often gets questions from social media users about how to carry out the method. She filmed a tutorial on the social media platform for others to follow and repeated the process in more detail for a new clip, racking up more than one million views.

She starts by putting her hair in a high ponytail and ties it with a soft scrunchie. Nicole then splits the ponytail into four small sections, and starting from the ends, rolls the hair under using her fingers. Once the section reaches the top of the ponytail, she clips it into place using a bobby pin, creating a pin curl.
