'He showed absolutely no remorse for his actions'

A woman was left with horrific injuries after being battered and raped. Jordan Taylor, 30, attacked his victim as she tearfully pleaded with him to ‘stop it’ and ‘calm down’.

He left her battered, bloodied and fearing for her life. Taylor, of St Brelades Drive, Salford, was jailed for 20 years at Bolton Crown Court on Friday (March 22) after being convicted of two counts of rape and assault.

The court heard Taylor met the victim one evening last year and went to a property, where he became aggressive when later asked to leave.

After being raped and assaulted, the woman victim phoned 999. Officers attended and found her with severe swelling around her eyes and forehead, as well as blood on her nose, hands and legs. Tests later revealed she had fractures to her eye socket, nasal bone and one of her fingers.

Taylor was arrested hours after the incident. He denied the assault and claimed intercourse with the victim was consensual.

Police later received a voicemail in which Taylor could be heard giving the victim orders while she is audibly crying and asking him to ‘stop it’ and ‘calm down’.

Detective Constable Maisie Gilman of Stockport’s CID said: "I would like to take this opportunity to thank the victim for her bravery throughout this investigation and for having the courage to report this information.

"Jordan Taylor showed absolutely no remorse for his actions, denying both the rape and the assault to officers when he was first arrested and then under caution when he was being interviewed.

"I hope the sentencing can act as some sort of closure to the victim and her family. It remains a priority as a force to tackle violence
