'He’s just incredible' - Man City told why Taylor Harwood-Bellis is a star in the making

Burnley's Jordan Beyer has claimed teammate Taylor Harwood-Bellis is destined "to go places" as the defender waxed lyrical about the Manchester City prospect.

Harwood-Bellis has spent the season out on loan in the Championship at Turf Moor. It has been a hugely successful spell for both the player and the club.

The 21-year-old has established himself as a first-choice in the heart of defence, racking up 32 appearances for the club and scoring once. On Tuesday night, Harwood-Bellis sealed the first trophy of his career as Burnley were confirmed as Championship title winners with a 1-0 triumph away to bitter rivals Blackburn Rovers.

Harwood-Bellis has a year left to go on his deal at City and is due to return to the Etihad this summer. Talks are planned to decide the next step in the defender's future and where he will be playing his football next season, with Harwood-Bellis himself open to the idea of returning to play for Vincent Kompany's side in the Premier League.

An option is of course to sign fresh terms at City and battle it out with the formidable group of central defenders that Pep Guardiola has at his disposal. John Stones, Nathan Ake, Aymeric Laporte, Ruben Dias and Manuel Akanji represent the competition Harwood-Bellis faces at his parent club.

For now, Harwood-Bellis has two more games of his loan spell to go at Burnley, and Beyer has been alongside him for many of his appearances this season. The German, who is also on loan at the Clarets from Borussia Monchengladbach, has spoken in glowing terms of his defensive partner.
