He launched a vape at an asylum seeker hotel during disorder before ‘celebrating’ in the pub

A man who threw a vape at a hotel believed to be housing asylum seekers before he was captured on CCTV ‘celebrating’ in the pub has been jailed.

Lynden Parker, 26, earlier pleaded guilty to violent disorder outside a hotel on Oldham Road, Newton Heath, on July 31, following an outbreak of riots across the country after the murder of three little girls in Southport.

Bricks and glass bottles were thrown at the hotel and towards the police as a mob of people surrounded and attacked a passing bus, Manchester Crown Court heard.

Parker, 26, was captured on police body cam launching an item, later found to be a vape, in the direction of the hotel.

He then went to a pub nearby in Newton Heath where he was seen ‘celebrating’ with others. In CCTV footage played to the court, Parker is clapping, hugging people and filming others who are also celebrating.

His phone was seized and analysed upon his arrest, which demonstrated very ‘deeply held racist and hostile views’, prosecutor Philip Hall said.

“In one such voice note, he said: ‘Horrible P***s, we need to go to war with these c***s and get them all out’,” he summarised.

“He also referenced ‘petrol bombing a mosque’, and described witnessing a robbery on ‘one of them’ and not reporting it to the police because he was ‘too busy laughing’.”

Also appearing in the dock, the court heard that both Michelle Jibson, 45, and Tracy Pearson, 53, were at the same incident. Both had England flags wrapped around their waists.
