'He can do what he wants' - Man City player defends Jack Grealish's summer celebrations

Maximo Perrone believes Jack Grealish is entitled to "do whatever he wants" off the pitch because of his hard work on it.

Grealish was at the centre of Manchester City's treble celebrations after they beat Inter Milan in the Champions League final. The 27-year-old joined his teammates in Ibiza before leading the open-top bus celebrations through the city.

After reporting for England duty, he jetted back off to the Spanish island for some well-earned rest and recovery. The former Aston Villa man has made no secret of his love for partying and has been spotted at Wayne Lineker's Ocean Beach on multiple occasions.

Grealish has come in for some criticism, with questions even being raised over his professionalism. But Perrone sees his teammate in training every day and insists the relentless effort he puts in is more than enough to justify a few weeks of celebrations.

"Grealish trains in an incredible manner, he leaves everything [on the pitch]; he plays every minute, every game," Perrone told Argentinian radio station D Sports Radio. "While he’s training he gives everything, he can do whatever he wants off the pitch."

Grealish and his City teammates are expected to report back for pre-season in the coming days, with initial testing to kick off the preparations.

Pep Guardiola will take his side to Japan and South Korea later this month for friendlies against Yokohama, Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich, before the Community Shield against Arsenal in August.
