Harry Kane delivers Manchester United verdict ahead of Bayern Munich Champions League clash

Harry Kane is looking forward to a tough Champions League opener on Wednesday when his Bayern Munich side host Manchester United.

Erik ten Hag's side kick off their European campaign with the toughest fixture of their group at the Allianz Arena. Thomas Tuchel's side are regulars in the latter stages of the competition and have invested heavily with the aim of conquering the continent.

The bulk of their £150million-plus summer spend went to Tottenham, with Harry Kane leaving the Premier League in search of trophies. He has taken to life in Germany well, with four goals in as many Bundesliga games.

The 30-year-old netted the opener in Friday evening's 2-2 draw at home to Bayer Leverkusen, nodding in at the back post after a corner was flicked on. A dramatic finish saw the visitors net a 94th-minute penalty to level the scoreline, but after swallowing the disappointment of two points dropped Kane has set his focus on Wednesday.

"It's going to be a really good game, a tough game," Kane said after Friday's draw. "Obviously Manchester United are a big team and have some quality players, so we'll need to prepare well. Every game in the Champions League is tough so we'll expect nothing less on Wednesday."

Bayern will be sweating on the fitness of midfielder Joshua Kimmich, who was taken off on the hour mark at the Allianz Arena with what looked to be a small issue. Manager Thomas Tuchel said after the game that the German international had an inflamed tendon, with the medical staff warning against playing more than 60 minutes.
