Harrison Reed sends message to Fulham supporters following Middlesbrough victory

Marco Silva’s side moved one step closer to the Championship crown on Wednesday night.

The Cottagers came out on top 1-0 at the Riverside in a close battle with Middlesbrough.

The win has moved Fulham 17 points clear of the play-off places and 11 point ahead of 2nd place Bournemouth.

Reed celebrated the win with a message to fans, thanking those who travelled for the game.

The Fulham midfielder also claimed that it was a big win for the team, as they chase promotion back to the Premier League.

“Big W, we dug in and got the job done. +3 we move. Travelling fans, thank you once again,” wrote Reed, via Instagram.

The victory came from a familiar source, with Aleksander Mitrovic’s 73rd minute strike enough to separate the sides.

That was the Serbian’s 38th goal in 37 appearances in the Championship this season as he chases the record for most prolific campaign in second division history.

Fulham now only need five more points from their remaining seven games to secure a place in next season’s Premier League.

A further 14-points will be needed to secure top spot in this Championship campaign.

Up next for Silva’s side is the visit of Coventry City to Craven Cottage on April 10.

This was a big win for Fulham and brings them so close now to promotion.

The Cottagers have been far and away the best team in the Championship so far this season so promotion has felt inevitable for some time.

But the team is also not cracking under the pressure of getting the final few points they need over the line.

Boro are a tough team to face, especially shown by their deep run in the FA Cup, but Fulham handled the game professionally and got the job done.
