Aleksandar Mitrovic aligns personal Fulham focus following promotion

The Cottagers secured their route back to the Premier League on Tuesday night with a 3-0 win at home against Preston North End.

The Serbian scored two first half goals to take his league tally to 40 for this season.

The 27-year-old has set his sights on the Premier League-era record of 42 goals, scored by Portsmouth’s Guy Whittingham.

Sheffield Wednesday’s Derek Dooley set the post-war record for goals in the second tier at 46.

The London club have earned a route to the Premier League with four games to spare and can secure the title with six more points from their final few games.

The two sides meet on April 23.

Mitrovic has blown past the previous Championship record, which was set by Ivan
