Harriet Dart news: Indian Wells champion believes Brit is set to be a top 10 player

Former world No 4, Spaniard Paula Badosa, thinks that British Harriet Dart is destined to be a top 10 player following her successful run at Indian Wells so far this year.

Dart has made it into the round of 16 at the California-based competition and is set to face former world No 7 American Madison Keys next at the WTA 1000 event.

This was after she defeated world No 18 Elina Svitolina in the second round of the tournament after coming from a set down, and then beat Estonian Kaia Kanepi, and it’s because of performances like this which is why Badosa believes the Brit is worthy of a top 10 place.

Paula Badosa: “In WTA anything can happen. The level has improved a lot. Yesterday I was watching tennis. I saw an insane match. Then you see the ranking. It was a girl [ranked] 120. She played like Top 10 level.”

The London-born player is yet to win a WTA title, however she has won four singles titles on ITF circuit.

But it’s doubles competitions which Dart is more well-known for as she has achieved 14 doubles titles and reached the finals of the mixed doubles at Wimbledon last year with her partner Joe
