Hannibal explains what he has learned from Cristiano Ronaldo at Manchester United
Hannibal has labelled Cristiano Ronaldo as a 'great team-mate' and has explained how he is always learning from the Portuguese star.
The Tunisian playmaker is one of the hottest young prospects at Manchester United after arriving from Monaco in 2019 and rising through the club's youth ranks. Hannibal enjoyed a great campaign last season which saw him make his senior debut on the final day of the season and win the Denzil Haroun Under-23s Player of the Year award.
The 19-year-old hasn't been able to break into the first team as he might have hoped this season, though, as injuries and two worthwhile trips away to represent his country in international tournaments have limited him to just 10 appearances for the club at all age levels. However, he is still rated highly at United having been named on the bench four times under Ralf Rangnick and been permanently promoted to senior training.
In those sessions, Hannibal plays alongside four-time Ballon d'Or winner Ronaldo and he has explained that he is constantly following his teammate's example and learning from him to become a better player.
“I rub shoulders with the person who has worked the hardest in the world of football: Cristiano Ronaldo,” Hannibal said, in an interview with Onze Mundial.
“I can only learn from him. Cristiano is at the very, very highest level. You can feel the experience he has. When it is necessary to score the winning goal, he will score it. He is always there when you need him. Live, it’s very impressive. Facing the goal, it’s incredible.
