Hamilton's play-off hopes are over, but we still have games to win, says boss

Hamilton boss Stuart Taylor says it's hugely disappointing that his side's Championship play-off hopes were ended as Arbroath ran out 1-0 winners at New Douglas Park.

But he says how his players react to the defeat is important, as they face away trips to Morton and Inverness either side of a visit by Raith Rovers to end their season.

Jack HamilIton's thunderbolt into the top left corner in 59 minutes earned Arbroath all three points, which keeps their title hopes alive, though they trail leaders Kilmarnock by four points.

But Taylor says not taking their chances cost Accies dearly.

He said: "I'm really frustrated, really disappointed - more so about the second half, I thought the first half was going fine.

"But the second half was a turnaround and I'm frustrated at having lost the game.

"I thought we dominated the first half, had them penned in and created good chances, but we didn't make the goalkeeper work.

"Just when we got in the final third, that final pass or final shot just wasn't good enough today.

"It definitely ends our play-off hopes. That's the disappointment from today, and it's a massive disappointment for us, but now we have to react and finish as high up the table as we possibly can.

"We have three massive games, they're all big games and they're all exactly the same, even now where we are at this moment in time.

"But we've got our pride and professionalism and all that sort of stuff, and we play for the football club.

"We'll continue what we're doing, in terms of trying to win every single game that we go into."
