Hamilton confirm former Rangers and Motherwell winger Jake Hastie has signed as Hibs loanee Dylan Tait set for exit

Hamilton Accies have confirmed the signing of winger Jake Hastie on loan from Hartlepool United until the end of the season.

Lanarkshire Live Sport revealed earlier this week that the former Rangers and Motherwell would join the League One outfit and the move, which runs until June 14, has now been announced by the New Douglas Park outfit.

We understand Accies are keen on making the deal permanent when his contract with The National League side expires in June.

Accies' director of football, Gerry Strain, said: "Jake is a player whom we have been tracking now since the summer and he is someone that our Manager, Coaching Staff & Analysts within our Football Department regard highly.

"When the opportunity presented itself to bring Jake back to Scotland, with the help of his intermediary and Hartlepool United FC, we were able to get the deal done and across the line.

"Personally, I hope that the addition of Jake to our already talented squad goes someway to ensuring that we can make a strong and positive push for league success.”

The club have also announced that Dylan Tait, who is currently on loan from Hibs, is set to return to his parent club.

A statement read: "Following meetings between our Manager, our Director of Football & Club Owner Seref Zengin, the Club can announce that our loan player from Hibernian Football Club, Dylan Tait, will no longer feature for the Club.

"We are now in a process of engagement with Hibernian Football Club at present and would anticipate to being able to provide our fans with a further update in due course."

Meanwhile, Accies have been dealt a blow with the news that their appeal of Ben Williamson's red card in last week's 2-0 win over Cove Rangers has been rejected.
