Hamilton Accies star Dan O'Reilly: Partick Thistle display should give us confidence to get result in Inverness
Dan O'Reilly reckons if Hamilton Accies can produce the same performance they did against Partick Thistle when they visit Inverness on Tuesday, they will be more than capable of ending their losing run in the Championship.
Bottom of the table Accies pushed Partick all the way on Saturday and will feel aggrieved not to have taken something off the league leaders after Andy Ryan had a late header spectacularly saved in their 2-1 defeat.
Goals from Brain Graham and Scott Tiffoney either side of Ryan equalising for the hosts after 53 minutes gave Thistle all three points.
But the performance was a vast improvement on their 5-0 thrashing at Morton a week earlier.
O'Reilly is hugely encouraged by the latest display from John Rankin's side and believes they can take plenty of positives to the Highlands.
The defender said: "We've got a big week coming up now with Inverness coming up on Tuesday and then Arbroath on Saturday.
"If we can perform like we did today, we will be alright going forward.
"What the fans will ask of us is commitment and hunger to try and win games and I thought we did that.
"I thought we had Partick pinned in at times and if Andy Ryan scores instead of a wonder save, we are having a different conversation.
"We controlled it for large parts of the game.
"We really needed a reaction from last week in terms of effort, workrate, commitment and togetherness from the team.
"Obviously, to lose is disappointing but it is early days in the season and we need to take the positives from this game.
"We've got no time to think about it because we've got a big game on Tuesday now.
"Last week wasn't good enough from me and everyone else.
