Hamilton Accies boss is already planning for next season's Championship race

Hamilton Accies boss Stuart Taylor admits next season will give him and the club a clear run at the Championship and already has an eye on plans for the summer.

Taylor has said since he came in that he's always at least one transfer window ahead of where they are in real-time, but says it's more than that, and that it's important to iron out the little things.

The former Hamilton and Airdrie midfielder says since the day and hour he came into the head coach role, it has been about moulding little things that lead to improvement, to scoring more goals, to keeping more clean sheets.

And Taylor hopes all of that will lead to improvement on and off the pitch.

Ahead of Saturday's Championship visit by Queen of the South, Taylor said: "There have been so many different things since I came in that we've had to achieve - the main one is getting three points.

"But there are certain elements that we want to make sure we concentrate on, whether it be fitness levels when we came in, the identity of playing, getting to that way of keeping clean sheets - there were loads of different things.

"Now we have different targets, but ultimately we always want to deal with the game that is in front of us and go and win that game.

"We go into every single game, we take it one game at a time, and we want to win every game that we go and play in - we've never been any different than that."

Taylor says targets have been identified for next January - having already looked at what he wants to bring in this summer, but that shifts with what Hamilton needs.
