Hamilton Accies boss demands more desire up front after Cove draw

Hamilton Accies boss John Rankin says his side must make more of being in a winning position after they were held to a 2-2 draw at Cove Rangers on Saturday.

Accies twice led in the Championship clash at the Balmoral Stadium, with Jean-Pierre Tiehi's first goal for the club levelled by Jamie Masson in 56 minutes.

While Dan O'Reilly restored their lead within three minutes, they were again legged back late on as Leighton McIntosh scored for last season's League One champions with six minutes left.

Rankin was pleased with the number of chances his side created, but again pointed to lack of a cutting edge up front, which has cost Accies several times already this season.

He said: "We're taking the lead in games, so we know we're creating chances, we're a danger, we've got players who can threaten opponents, so that's hugely pleasing.

"The chances we created yesterday were really good.

"The disappointing thing for me is the goals that we're conceding. It's not so much the goals we're scoring, because we are creating chances, but when we go in front it's going to get the next goal.

"We seem to be sitting deep and not coming out, now why that is I don't know - I'm not on the pitch - but that becomes hugely
