'Had direct conversation' - Romano reveals 'huge' chance Arsenal target will now leave

Fabrizio Romano has been speaking about the interest Arsenal have in Gabriel Jesus on the Que Golazo YouTube channel.

It has previously been reported by The Athletic’s David Ornstein that Arsenal are indeed interested in signing Gabriel Jesus this summer in what would likely be a cut-price deal considering that the striker’s contract is set to expire next summer.

Jesus has a pretty impressive record since joining Manchester City with 93 goals and 46 assists in 230 games, which considering the fact he was behind Sergio Aguero in the pecking order for so long and has been deployed as a winger on numerous occasions, is something that Arsenal fans would surely love amid the rumours.

Romano has claimed that Arsenal and Jesus’ agents are now in direct contact about the player.

He said: “At the moment, there are not even conversations between Manchester City and Gabriel Jesus to extend the contract, so that’s why there are huge chances for him to leave the club on a free.

“Arsenal [have] had direct conversation with his agents, but they’re not the only club, but Arsenal are in contact with his agents.”
