Haaland vs Nunez: Lynsey Hipgrave predicts which Premier League star will have big impact

The new Premier League season is just a day away, and excitement is building around what promises to be another electric campaign.

With Manchester City and Liverpool both strengthening in the transfer window, another close title race can be expected.

BT Sport’s Lynsey Hipgrave, who will lead the channel’s Premier League coverage, gave her predictions ahead of the new season.

Man City made a statement signing when they welcomed Erling Haaland to the club from Borussia Dortmund. The Norwegian joined in June to replace the legendary Sergio Aguero, who departed last year after a decade at the club.

Liverpool also saw a key player move onto pastures new when Sadio Mané signed for Bayern Munich this summer, ending an iconic era with the Reds.

The Merseyside outfit were quick to move on the market and snapped up Uruguayan Darwin Nunez for a record transfer fee of £85 million.

Courtesy of the fans, an unofficial rivalry has brewed up between Haaland and Nunez to see which star player will have the better debut Premier League season.

Hipgrave highlighted Haaland as the most exciting Premier League transfer and is eager to see what he will produce throughout his time with City.

“I’m really excited to see how he’s going to do in the Premier League,” she told GiveMeSport Women. “It’s what we want — we want the best players in the world coming into the Premier League.

“It’s hard not to think that City couldn’t clean up this season. They scored 99 goals without an out-and-out striker and you stick one of the best in the world into that team.

“I think they’re going to win three Premier Leagues
