Gurusingha invites 36 players for Yellow Greens’ screening in Lagos

Yellow Greens Head Coach and National High Performance Manager, Asanka Gurursingha, has invited 36 players for screening at the Tafawa Balewa Square Oval.

The one-week exercise, which begins tomorrow, is to select players for the Yellow Greens’ multiple engagements later in the year. These competitions include the T20 World Cup Regional Qualifiers and the Africa Cricket Association Championship.

Among the players listed for the exercise are Adedolapo Onikoyi, Sulaiman Runsewe, Ashmit Shrestha, Babatunde Ayinde, Pradeep Chuadhary, Sesan Adedeji, Akhere Isesele, Ikaigbe Miracle, David Abiebhode, Kodjo Timinade, Solomon Miracle, Chimezie Onwuzulike, Peter Aho, Prosper Useni, Isaac Okpe, Mustapha Yussuf, Nzube Nwokike and Taiwo Mohammed.

Others are Chiemelie Udekwe, Vincent Adewoye, Elijah Monday, Sylvester Okpe, Ridwan Abdulkareem, Boniface Oche, Joshua Asia, Tamesh Sigh, Manish Mundhra, Malik Olaitan Jamal, Jeremiah Theophilus, Orion Isesele, Elochukwu Ndububem, Samuel Mba, Happy Bagshaw, Eghosa Aghedo Destiny, Ifeanyi Uboh and Bekky Mubarak.

According to the Nigeria Cricket Federation (NCF), after the screening, the selected players would be involved in series of camping and proposed tour to condition them for the challenge ahead. NCF President, Uyi Akpata, said the goal is to ensure the team is tournament ready through practice and exposure.
