Guardians of the Galaxy actress Karen Gillan over the moon as her ongoing ‘war’ with TikTok is over

You would think that when you are a worldwide famous celebrity you shouldn’t have to prove your identity to anyone, however this was not the case for Karen Gillan. The Marvel actress has had to beg and plead with TikTok so her followers would believe she was the real deal.

The star who is famously known for her roles in the massive franchises Guardians of the Galaxy and Jumanji, joined the platform in November last year.

Ever since, she has had to face scrutiny from viewers who questioned her identity due to the fact the username ‘Karen Gillan’ was already taken, so the movie star had to go with the handle ‘karengillan100’.

The Doctor Who actress desperately pleaded with TikTok to verify her account and give her the ‘karengillan’ handle.

Fans echoed her verification pleas in the comment section of several of her videos where she addresses the issue.

Referring to her past role as Amy Pond in Doctor Who, Juan commented: “It’s literally the POND like come on TikTok.”

Another user called John highlighted her role as Nebula in Marvel movie Guardians of the Galaxy said: “but really....u need tiktok verification? ....you r Nebula...period.”

Chris added: “I will personally vouch for her!” while another said, “You're Karen Gillan - you verifiable Queen!”

Karen called out TikTok for being “cheeky wee rascals” after one user suggested the only reason TikTok hadn’t verified the celeb yet was because “TikTok is committing to the bit.”

However, many fans teased the star jokingly saying she is not who she says she is.
