Greater Manchester weekend weather forecast as temperatures soar to 21 degrees

After a mixed week of sunshine and showers, it looks like the sun is finally here to stay in Greater Manchester - for one day at least. Blue skies can be seen all across the region with people heading outside to make the most of the warm, summery weather.

Anywhere with low cloud will soon clear to make way for lengthy spells of sunshine, with little to no sign of rain in sight. Temperatures are set to soar throughout the day and reach a high of 21C this evening, according to the Met Office.

The sun will stay out until around 9pm tonight with clouds increasing during the evening and overnight. There is a risk of a few heavy showers developing during the early hours with the lowest temperatures dropping to 9C.

Greater Manchester residents should make the most of the sunshine today as tomorrow isn't looking as promising.

The Met Office predicts that Sunday will be cloudy with a risk of light showers or some longer spells of rain throughout the day, with a small chance of a few sunny spells appearing from time to time.

Despite the sun going back into hiding tomorrow, it will feel quite humid as temperatures are set to reach 19C.

For the beginning of next week, the Met Office says the weather will be 'often unsettled' from Monday through to Wednesday with heavy showers or longer periods of rain.

We can look forward to some drier, brighter interludes at times next week as temperatures will stay fairly warm reaching a high of 22C.
