Greater Manchester to enjoy sunnier weekend after days of downpours

Following a few days of pouring rain and dreary clouds, Greater Manchester will soon be hit with some much-needed sunshine.

Conditions are set to get much warmer over the weekend, with the Met Office predicting more frequent sunny intervals throughout. This is especially good news for those wanting to head into town over the weekend to either watch the Manchester Marathon or Grand National.

On Saturday, conditions will begin to improve with temperatures peaking as high as 13C. From the start of the morning, temperatures will be relatively cold, fluctuating between 4C and 5C before steadily rising as the day progresses.

This will be accompanied by sunny intervals which will persist throughout the whole day and well into the evening. However, warmer and more sunny conditions will spell out bad news for those suffering from hay fever as the pollen count is expected to be high throughout the whole day.

The Met Office said: "After a chilly start, a fine and dry day on Saturday with plenty of sunny spells. Feeling pleasant in the sunshine with winds remaining light. Maximum temperature 13 °C."

Sunday will be much more milder as grey clouds begin to dominate the sky once again with overcast predictions forecasted by the Met Office. However, temperatures will remain positively warm, reaching a peak of 15C in the late afternoon.

This will lead into a much more sunny start to the week with sunny conditions expected throughout, according to early predictions. For Sunday, the Met Office said: "Staying settled with plenty of bright or sunny spells. Perhaps turning cloudier at times with some patchy drizzle on Sunday.

"Feeling
