Greater Manchester road dubbed 'worst in UK' in viral TikTok rant

A major road running between Greater Manchester and South Yorkshire has been slammed as the 'worst in the UK' in a viral TikTok video.

Professional tribute act @miwallbank blasted Woodhead Pass for being 'where dreams go to die', warning viewers: "If you need to go somewhere and Woodhead Pass is on your map, you need to be afraid."

The angry rant was posted after a crash closed Woodhead Pass, one of the main routes between Manchester and South Yorkshire, for several hours on Tuesday evening. The delay caused the performer to miss her show in North Wales, delaying her by at least three hours.

She was forced to turn around and head back towards Yorkshire - but her frustrations with the road didn't end there. Much to her dismay, she was was unable to tell her management about the ordeal because she couldn't get a phone signal for 40 minutes.

"The other fun fact about Woodhead Pass is that it's in the middle of nowhere and you cannot contact a soul other than by carrier pigeon!", she says in the TikTok, which has attracted more than 500,000 views.

"I hope you're happy Woodhead Pass, because I've just lost a night's work and its all your fault! Hate is a strong word, but I hate you, Woodhead Pass. Never in my life have I felt a hatred so strong for something that isn't even a person."

Hundreds of commenters have shared their views on the viral video, with many agreeing. User Alibobs said: "Woodhead Pass is evil! We broke down on it, no phone service, nothing. Pure panic in the dark."
