Greater Manchester breakfast spot 'delighted' after being named one of the best in the region

A restaurant in Salford is celebrating after receiving a glowing review. The Garden Bar and Restaurant in Eccles was praised for its 'wonderful food and friendly staff' by a popular blog, The Breakfast Awards.

Run by a group of friends who travel the North West to find the best breakfast spots in the region, the blog handed the Eccles spot one of its best scores to date. The restaurant and bar was awarded 45 out of 50, which is the highest score handed out this year.

The restaurant which can be found on Monton Road was highlighted for its 'bright and pleasing' location, 'beautiful conservatory' and food that was described as being of a 'high quality'.

Its breakfast menu includes a full English breakfast with buttered sourdough toast and black pudding bons bons for £12, and a veggie option for £10. The Garden serves eggs in a range of styles such as Florentine eggs which comes with wilted spinach, a toasted English Muffin and hollandaise for £9.

In the afternoon it changes to a lunch menu which has the steak sandwich which will set you back £11.50 and a Garden beef burger which comprises of a 6oz Bury beef burger, cheddar cheese, streaky bacon and a side of fries and homemade slaw for £14.

In their post, The Breakfast Awards wrote: "What an amazingly, beautiful place to visit. Wonderful food and friendly staff. The location is bright and certainly pleasing on the eyes. The conservatory is beautiful and a very comfortable place to be.

"There was a problem with some water leaking. However the staff explained the issues, apologised and made sure we still felt like the priority for them.
