Great British Bake Off 2024 line-up: Full list of this year's bakers including nurse, mechanic and gap year student

The Great British Bake Off has unveiled its 2024 line-up of bakers ahead of the Channel 4 show's return. The baking show has become a regular fixture on our screens thanks to its tricky baking challenges, cheeky innuendos, soggy bottoms and of course, the Paul Hollywood handshake.

It has now been officially confirmed that series fifteen of The Great British Bake Off will kick off on Tuesday, September 24 at 8pm.

A dozen new bakers will enter the Bake Off tent and battle against each other to win the Bake Off cake stand and praise of being Bake Off champion.

These new bakers include a university student, car mechanic and a palliative care nurse. The new contestants will be hoping to impress returning judges Paul Hollywood and Dame Prue Leith as presenters Noel Fielding and Alison Hammond offer their support and commentate their baking skills.

Here is what we know about the new bakers who will be competing to be named Star Baker and a Hollywood Handshake.

The 44-year-old car mechanic from Essex loves baking. As a child, baking alongside his mum, Andy first learned the much-loved family staples: apple crumble to follow a Sunday roast and Bakewell tarts made using pastry offcuts (to make sure nothing went to waste) among them.

Now, he bakes for his partner, Nickie, and hopes to inspire his daughter, Maisie, to follow in his baking footsteps – always with the aim of making his adored mum proud.

Outside of the kitchen and tent, Andy plays football, goes to the gym and loves a long walk with Nickie, Maisie and their miniature Schnauzer, Arthur, as well as exploring the far corners of the country in their motor home.

Born and raised in Emmen, a small town in The Netherlands, Christiaan studied fashion in Amsterdam.
