Granerud wins again on home soil with Vikersund victory

Norway's Halvor Egner Granerud won his fourth World Cup event on home snow in the Raw Air tournament with victory in Vikersund. Granerud breezed through to the second round with a 10-point lead over Austria's Stefan Kraft but a poor second jump saw his lead cut as he clung on for the win.

Wellinger fell away in the second run, dropping down to 12th as his jump of 193.5m earned only 156.9 points. Kraft outscored Granerud in the second round, his jump of 227.5m garnering 203.4 points but it was not enough to overall Granerud who ended 6.1 points ahead with 424.9 points in total.

Daniel Tschofenig of Austria rounded out the podium with an impressive second jump, he sailed 229.5m, the furthest of the round, to move up from 10th. Granerud added a fourth win, and first in Vikersund, in the 2023 Raw Air tournament with two competitions remaining tomorrow.

In doing so, he denied Kraft back-to-back wins while also tightening his grip at the top of the overall standings, with Dawid Kubacki still in second despite an eighth-place finish, with Kraft in third.
