Graham Rowntree fumes at loss to Stormers but vows Munster won't 'fall apart'

Graham Rowntree refused to make excuses for his Munster side after they suffered a third defeat of the season against the Stormers.

The visitors' performance was riddled with mistakes, while the lineout woes, costly in last weekend's loss to Leinster, continued.

However, tries from Tom Farrell, Eoghan Clarke and Gavin Coombes had them within two points with five minutes to play.

From there, it was John Dobson's side, who started the round bottom of the URC table, who kicked on and ran out 34-19 victors.

"We just killed ourselves there," Rowntree told RTÉ Sport.

"I thought we were in that game at half-time, came out in the second half and our discipline was poor.

"They score a good try there, then we have our opportunities to nail them with our lineout, we couldn't do it.

"We start giving away penalties in the scrum, then we’re chasing the game.

"At key moments, it [the lineout] didn’t [work]. We’re shelling penalties in the scrum, 11 penalties we conceded and they all counted. It’s a hugely frustrated and down dressing room, for good reason.

"I thought we were in that and suddenly we weren’t."

It's an early breakthough for the Stormers as Suleiman Hartzenberg gallops to the line after intercepting Crowley's pass #RTErugby
