Graeme Souness reveals Mo Salah Liverpool fear as he accuses Egyptian of 'flirting with Saudi Arabia'

Graeme Souness fears Liverpool WILL lost Mo Salah to Al Ittihad and has accused the Egyptian of "flirting" with Saudi Arabia.

The Anfield club booted out a massive £150million offer for Salah on deadline day and then considered the matter closed. However, the transfer window in the mega rich Gulf state doesn't close until next Friday and Ittihad are expected to come back with even more, after the SPL, who conduct transfers on behalf of clubs, were reportedly offered "encouragement" to continue their pursuit.

And Souness reckons the Saudis will get what they want in the end. The Liverpool legend is realistic enough to know that cash will never be an issue and that Salah himself must be tempted by the riches on offer. There's also a point at which his former club may realise this as an offer that it would be daft to turn down, and cashing in will become their only sensible option.

He wrote in his Daily Mail column: "I have to say I fear Liverpool will lose Mo Salah to Saudi Arabia. I really think he’ll go for it in the six days between now and the Saudi transfer window closing.

"He’s an Egyptian and a Muslim who would be going to the birthplace of Islam and to a country which has a maritime border with his own. Let’s also remember he has moved around a lot, with six clubs in 13 years, and has been at Anfield for six years — not man and boy. I suspect he’s thinking, “I’ve won the league. I’ve won the Champions League. I’ve done my bit”.

"There’s the money, too, of course. This is not someone being offered 10 or 20 per cent more than his current vast salary. Salah can ask for whatever he wants and the Saudis would give it to him because he’s the one they will want more than any other player.
