Graeme Souness in talks over punditry return as he reveals Sky Sports exit was THEIR choice not his

Pundit Graeme Souness is planning to get right back in the saddle after leaving Sky Sports.

The Rangers and Liverpool hero has been on screens for the last two decades but announced at the end of last season he would be stepping down from Sky. He had an emotional final appearance on Super Sunday and left with the broadcaster's best wishes after almost 20 years of service.

Souness turned 70 earlier this year and many expected him to retire rather than go straight back into it elsewhere. But he has revealed he's talking to "other people" over a potential return to TV screens. And while he says it was a "mutual" decision to leave Sky, he admits he wanted to stay but accepted their reasons for asking him to step down. Souness told The Guardian: “It was mutual. I mean, I was keen to stay another year. They thought it would be a good idea that we called it a day, gave their reasons and I accepted that and have zero complaints about Sky.

"I worked for them maybe 15 years solid – but it’s more like 20 years. They’ve been great for me, gave me the weekends to look forward to, the buzz of live football. I'll miss it. But I’m talking to other people and we’ll go again. There’s life in the old dog yet.”
