Grading every Super League club's start to the season as some shine and others flop

As the halfway point in the season approaches, some Super League clubs have surpassed expectations while others have fallen badly short. St Helens, seeking an unprecedented fourth successive Grand Final win, currently lead the way at the top of the table but sworn enemies Wigan Warriors are below them only on points difference.

The likes of Leeds Rhinos and Warrington Wolves have endured disappointing campaigns so far while newly-promoted Toulouse Olympique lie rock-bottom and are favourites to be relegated. Here, Rugby League Live assesses each club’s campaign after 11 rounds.

It will take a special team to stop Kristian Woolf’s men retaining their Super League crown this season. They are a side dripping with pace, power and skill in every department and have a proven track record of winning big games.

St Helens are not invincible, though, and defeats at Toulouse and Castleford, albeit with weakened teams, proved that. But the real Saints showed their mettle when beating bitter rivals Wigan on Good Friday and, while there might be the odd blip, the champions remain on course to rewrite the history books this season.

Woolf continues to make use of the club’s thriving academy and Morgan Knowles has perhaps been the best forward in Super League this season. Saturday’s Challenge Cup semi-final against Wigan should be some scrap.
