Govt urged to appoint professionals to man education sector
In line with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 4 on providing inclusive and sustainable education, the National President CMS Girls’ Grammar School Akoka Alumnae Association, Adeola Adetugboboh has urged Lagos State government to appoint competent and professionals to manage the education sector.
Speaking at the alumnae first Annual General Meeting (AGM), Adetugboboh said: “We need someone to maintain the standards that was laid down by former Deputy Governor, Sarah Sosan. She was coming from the background of education and she understood the needs of the students.”
She added: “It was during Babatunde Fashola’s administration that the laboratories were renovated. Those that know more about education should be appointed in order for government to achieve their goals.”
Commenting on the purpose of the AGM, she disclosed the essence was to review their achievements and look forward to making progress, get more members, unite and make the school great.
She said: “When we first launched our alumnae on May 21, 2022, we had a simple but ambitious goal of creating a vibrant and engaging community of alumnae who could support one another, give back to our Alma Mater and make positive impact in the world.
