Manchester United belatedly appear to have noticed the gaping hole in their midfield and, apparently, they want Kalvin Phillips to fill it.
That’s the word according to the Manchester Evening News, at least. It seems the Red Devils are keen on Declan Rice and Jude Bellingham – who wouldn’t be? – but United reckon tempting Phillips across the Pennines from Leeds is a more realistic option.

They also see Phillips as a better screener for their defence and the fact he would probably cost less than his England team-mates is just a coincidence.
Not that the 26-year-old would come cheap. With Aston Villa ready to pay £60million for Phillips, United are willing to fend off them and West Ham.
