Good Morning Britain viewers have to 'switch over' as Richard Madeley scolds guest and encourages 'please stop'

Good Morning Britain viewers were left divided as Richard Madeley got the week off to an 'explosive' start. It may be the bank holiday weekend for some but the presenter was in no mood for messing around when he joined Kate Garraway at the helm of the ITV news programme on Monday (August 28).

Among the usual news headlines and debates and discussions, the presenting duo were joined by Home Secretary Suella Braverman but she soon left Richard fuming after she "refused" to answer his line of questioning when it came to her new police force plan.

The Tory MP has insisted that police will have the resources necessary to meet a pledge to follow all “reasonable lines of inquiry” in a renewed effort to crack down on crime. It comes after the College of Policing published guidance for officers in England and Wales to consider all potential evidence – such as footage from CCTV, doorbells and dashcams, as well as phone tracking – if it could lead to a suspect or stolen property.

But after asking her what had gone wrong within the system, Braverman avoided answering twice before Richard authoritatively encouraged: "On behalf of the viewers watching this programme who may have been burgled last night, please stop generalising and telling us how great it all is in other areas."

He continued to plead: "Please deal with these figures, two per cent, four per cent and six per cent. This is the third time of asking within two minutes, I want a specific answer please Home Secretary, not a generalised answer that everything is lovely."
